Scouts, aged 10-14, are the third section of the Scouting movement and meet in Troops.  With the emphasis on adventurous activities, action and involvement, Scouting means more than just camping! Hiking, rock climbing, gliding, sailing, pioneering, canoeing, parascending, abseiling, first aid, motor mechanics, electronics, amateur radio and photography are just some of the things they do. Outdoor activities feature prominently in the Scout Troop. Map reading, camp cooking, first aid are all parts of the Scout programme.  In Dorking, the Scout Troops camp both in summer and in winter, go on night hikes, cook over fires and build bivouacs, as well as attend Scoutabout, the County-wide Scouting event which over 4,000 Scouts attended in 2011.
