Beaver Scouts, aged 6-8, belong to the youngest section of the Scouting movement and meet in Colonies. Their activities are based around “fun and friends.”  In their weekly meetings in the Group hut, on Ranmore Common, or at the local fire station or park, Beaver Scouts work towards challenges and earn activity badges, such as the Explorer Badge, Air Activities Badge, Animal Friend Badge or the Healthy Eating Badge.  Beavers in Dorking have sleep-overs, go for hikes, build stomp rockets, light fires at the campsite, and have paper boat races. The Beaver Colonies across the District meet for joint sleep-overs, St George’s Day Feasts, and the County Beaver fun day – Bazzaz – as well as many more events. There is a new opportunity every week!
