23rd Dorking (Leigh)

The 23rd Dorking (Leigh) scout group are a small village group situated in the little village of Leigh. It is run by a dedicated team of leaders. Who enjoy running the meetings as much as the children love being at them. All three sections meet at Leigh village hall opposite the cricket club. The meetings are held on Monday and Wednesday nights.

Until recently Leigh has only ever had a cub pack. Meaning that children in the village had to go to neighbouring groups to go to beavers and scouts, this meant that numbers were small as more often than not they stayed at the same group for cubs.
However when we took over recently  we opened up a beaver colony and without any advertising we opened with over 15 beavers, which meant that the cub pack now has its own natural feed of young scouters. Once they were old enough we then opened up a scout troop and for the first time in many years the village had a group with all three sections. This has transformed us into the thriving and continually growing group that we have become to this day.

The programs for all three sections cover a wide range of skills and values needed in life.

The Group is looking for leaders as the group is rapidly growing.
