The 24th Dorking Scout Group is in the midst of giving their HQ a renovation! These are still on-going and although things are still moving slowly nothing has been forgotten or abandoned. The Cubs have done their own audit and risk assessment on the outside of the Hut. Their observations were very sensible and revealing. They noted that the small windows looked dreadful; the good news is that we have a grant from MVDC to replace them and they have been ordered.

They also thought it would be good to start using the playground again, but they recognised that the brambles and leaves made it dangerous and it had to be cleared before it could be used again.

So towards the end of May a small army of cubs and various Dad experts set to work with conducting restoration on their base, the aim was to paint the doors of the hut, replace the guttering and to clear the playground. Brushes and paint were proved and a real difference can be seen, this will enable Beavers, Cubs and Scouts to use a suitable outdoor area in the wet months of winter for activities
